What Happens During The CranioSacral Therapy Session
In the typical CST session the client remains fully clothed and usually lies down on the treatment couch. I make a gentle contact with the head, the feet, the base of the spine or other areas of the body as appropriate. Because the body functions as a whole, I may focus on areas other than where your symptoms occur.
After a session there is occasionally a short period of adjustment as part of the healing process, when the client may become more aware of symptoms, emotions, and feel tired. This is a natural way of the body rebalancing and integrating the changes.
Treatments can be received weekly, fortnightly or monthly, dependng on severity of the condition. For long-standing problems a series of treatments may be needed.
In the longer term, I would like my clients to be able to support themselves and I provide tools for that. Of course, this depends on the condition and situation of the client, as some old, deep-rooted trauma or recovery following a serious accident would need more attention and take longer to resolve.
Ideally, babies and children should receive CST regularly to ensure that they grow and develop free of any patterns arising from the birth trauma and childhood injuries.
Keeping health at optimal level is what we all strive for, and I always welcome and support clients who come for craniosacral treatments to maintain or want to boost their natural health.
